The Method
How a premise becomes a book-length first draft.
ACEPHALE is an AI pipeline that writes book-length fiction, and we say that plainly, because it is the first thing you deserve to know. It is not one chatbot in a long trance. It is a production line: one model writes the prose, scene by scene, while a second orchestrates everything the prose has to obey (structure, characters, world, continuity), then audits and edits what came back. Two minds, one of them permanently skeptical of the other.
The whole apparatus exists to solve the one problem a single model cannot: holding a voice and a plot together across a hundred thousand words without drifting. What follows is the method, in the order your commission moves through it.
Your premise is compiled before a word is written.
Genre, target length, the voice to hold, how much hope the ending is allowed. Everything you give us at intake is turned into explicit configuration: a world file, a character file, a plot file with every scene's beat and every planted foreshadow assigned to the scene that must pay it off. The pipeline never improvises structure. Structure is decided before the prose engine wakes up.
One model writes. Another holds the leash.
The prose model writes each scene against that configuration (point of view, beat, foreshadow duties and all) and returns it as structured data, not loose text: what was learned, what was planted, who appeared. The orchestrator checks each return against the plan. There is no retrieval database and no embedding search; long-form coherence comes from the structure itself, which is why the voice on page three hundred matches the voice on page one.
The draft is then attacked.
Assembly is not delivery. The second agent re-reads the whole manuscript as an editor: cutting the sentence that explains the image it follows, checking that every planted foreshadow lands, scoring consistency and tone against the config. These are real cuts: the render of The Museum of Solved Feelings lost six passages in this pass after an external critique, and is the better book for it.
You receive a first pass. That word is chosen honestly.
Within seven days of completed intake you receive the manuscript as clean Markdown and a manuscript-formatted document, by email, owned outright; the deed is yours. What you receive is a complete first draft, not a finished book: the hundred thousand words that must exist before your revision can begin. Revision is your half of the collaboration, and it is also, as the ownership page explains, where the law recognizes an author.
